Chelsea is in bloom and so is Barnes!

This year we are delighted to collaborate with Barnes Artists and with our local florists, flower shops and greengrocers on a floral trail displaying art from some of Barnes’ most successful artists. Chelsea is in bloom and so is Barnes takes place between Saturday 16 May - Saturday 23 May.  Participating businesses include The Flower Room and Maison Maioli on White Hart Lane, Barnes Fruit and Veg on Barnes High Street and Two Peas in a Pod, Barnes Pantry and Bella’s Fruit and Veg on Church Road.    At these businesses you can view and purchase stunning floral art from the following artists who live and work in Barnes and enjoy a taste of Chelsea Flower Show!

 

Michelle Hawes -

Michelle Hawes is a contemporary artist working with acrylics and oils. She enjoys painting from life pleinair but also creating a fusion with abstraction and realism in her studio. @michellehawesart

 

Sophia Bloxham -

Sophia Bloxham is an illustrator working in linoprint, watercolour, and ink, creating highly decorative floral and botanical artworks inspired by the ornamental traditions of the decorative arts.

Sarah Dickinson -

Flowers, a metaphor for transience, celebration, commiseration, love. I paint intuitively, expressively but always in the service of observation.

Shirley Henry -

Shirley Henry, a Belfast‑born artist trained at the Art Academy in London, draws inspiration from living landscapes and organic forms. Working between abstraction and figuration, she captures atmosphere, colour and fleeting energy in oils, charcoal and pastels.

Jo Holland is a contemporary artist working with light, nature, and time to create quietly immersive photographic works that explore perception beyond representation.

Sue Pearce -

Sue Pearce celebrates the finest details of nature through a creative use of graphite. She is known for her exquisitely detailed drawings of vegetables, shellfish and marine fish.

Lori Shaul is a ceramic hand builder who works with stoneware and earthenware clays. Her body of decorative and functional work embodies imaginative interpretations of nature and continues to evolve and grow reflecting changing surroundings and emotions.

Caitriona Tamlyn -

Caitriona Tamlyn grew up in Barnes.  She loves flowers and textiles and these feature a lot in her work.  Her aim is to create decorative, joyful paintings that reflect her love of pattern and colour.
