New Course, New Topics coming in Spring!

Connect More is a program designed to enhance public digital access and skills, with a focus on maximising the use of your mobile phones. We have been offering these courses since 2022, helping local residents from Barnes , Mortlake and nearby areas becoming familiar with the use of their mobile devices. The course is conducted in small classes, providing hands-on practice and dedicated Q&A time to address individual needs.

Our "how-to" course with new topics is scheduled for Spring 2024 and we are now opened for registration. The course tends to fill up quickly due to limited spaces. Whether you are new to mobile devices or looking to do more with your smart phones, register NOW to avoid disappointment.

Our Spring Course 2024 will exclusively focus on mobile phones. There will be seven sessions on the following dates. Each session covers various topics, allowing participants to acquire different skills. Additionally, each session includes a dedicated 30-minute Q&A segment to address individual needs. You have the flexibility to attend ALL seven sessions, as most of our attendees do, or select specific sessions based on your needs. Below is an overview for the seven sessions:

1. Familiarise with your smartphone - Learn about the key buttons, symbols, and swipe gestures on your phone. We'll also assist you in setting up your passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID for enhanced phone security

2. Essential Settings - Explore how to perform searches, understand the importance of setting up Medical ID, and learn how to backup your phone

3. Explore Apps - Learn about how to download/install and delete apps, in particular we will explore communication apps such as WhatsApp and Messages

4. All about Email - Focus on email, how to search, attach documents/photos in email etc.

5. Using the camera and photo/video features - Explore how to take selfies, transfer photos from WhatsApp to your Photo Gallery, and organize your Photo Gallery effectively

6. Demystify Digital Wallet - Discover how to set up and utilize your smartphone for payments and explore the additional functionalities of your digital wallet

7. Troubleshooting common issues

We will be delivering the same course at three locations at different date/time:

• Castelnau Community Center - FULL

• St Mary the Virgin, Mortlake Community Association - 4:00 to 6:00 pm Wednesday, 29th May, 5th June, 12th June, 19th June, 26th June, 3rd July, 10th July

• Rose House, Barnes Community Association - 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday and Wednesday, 17th July, 22nd July, 24th July, 29th July, 31st July, 5th August, 7th August
