Swans and Cygnets 2019

Swans and Cygnets 2019

The Pond’s resident pair of swans hatched out seven cygnets on the 25th April, of which one appears to be of the “white” or leucistic colour type. They make use of Beverly Brook as well as the Pond to access its plentiful food supply and cooler, quieter conditions. They can be often seen walking between the Brook and the Pond when they are vulnerable to dog attacks or being stepped on. Please give them their space and keep dogs on leads if you encounter them on land. Also consider halting the traffic for them if you see them crossing between the Pond and the traffic island at the head of Barnes High Street.
