BCA Christmas Festival

It’s the most festive time of the year in Barnes, and there’s a wonderful buzz as we kick off the BCA Christmas Festival. The celebrations began on 30 November and run through to 14 December, but the real flurry of activity happens this week - and we’d love you to be part of it.

BCA Christmas Cinema

Thank you to everyone who joined us for How the Grinch Stole Christmas on Sunday 30 November at Olympic Studios - and a huge thank you to The Olympic for hosting our special screening. We were delighted that Dr Kalia from The Barnes Doctors, transformed himself into a very friendly Grinch for the occasion.

We look forward to welcoming those booked for our next Christmas film, Elf on Sunday 14 December. This event is now completely sold out - thank you for your support!

White Hart Lane Christmas Charity Night - Tuesday 2 December, 5pm - 8pm

Join us tomorrow for a wonderfully festive evening on White Hart Lane!

From 4pm - 6pm there will be an Art Workshop drop-in at Osteria Otello, where children can create a cut-out Christmas card scene with Barnes Artists. From 4:15pm - 5:15pm there will be a Dog Christmas Coat competition with the Medivet team. Just bring your furry friend along in their festive coat. At 5pm, don’t miss Barnes Primary Choir performing outside Orange Pekoe.

Across White Hart Lane you’ll also find a fabulous charity raffle, Santa’s Grotto at The Flower Room (drop-in), piggy racing at Stylus, live music at Harty’s, music and a snow show at The Crossing. Look out for festive offers from many local businesses.

Proceeds from the evening support ADHD Embrace and Cocoon. Come along, enjoy late night shopping, and show your support for our fantastic local shops and charities.

Barnes Christmas Fair - Friday 5 December, 3pm - 8pm

Barnes High Street and Church Road will be filled with Christmas cheer with many shops staying open late with special offers, discounts and live music performed around the village - details below.

The mini funfair returns to Barnes Green where you will also find a selection of stalls offering original gifts, including the BCA stall selling our new Barnes Christmas Bauble and charity Christmas card. Also don’t miss The OSO’s Christmas Fair and outside BBQ.

Father Christmas at Rose House - Friday 5 December

Rose House will once again stage its beautiful Grotto on Friday 5 December. Pre-booked tickets have sold out but we are welcoming walk-ins 6pm-7pm.

This year, we are once again working with Share & Care Collective as our chosen charity for the Christmas Festival.

Many thanks to West Motor Co, whose magical “sleigh car” will be picking up Santa this year to bring him to his grotto at Rose House. He’ll be making a special stop at St Osmund’s School at 4pm - so if you haven’t booked a visit at Rose House, here’s another change to say hello.

BCA Christmas Market at Holy Trinity Church - Saturday 6 December, 10am - 3pm

The BCA is once again collaborating with Holy Trinity Church and Barnes Collectables Market to bring a Christmas Shopping Event to the Castelnau Parade. Enjoy carols from Lowther Primary School at 10:30am and Barnes Community Choir at 11am - and don’t miss the coffee and mince pies available throughout the morning.

BCA Turkey Run - Sunday 7 December

The 10th annual BCA Turkey Run on Sunday 7 December 2025 is sold out. We unfortunately cannot accept registrations on the morning of the run. This year, runners will take on the 10k towpath route in festive fancy dress, with the Tiny Turkeys 1-mile fun run back for under-12s.

The Coach & Horses will be celebrating runners’ return with live music from 11am and this year we’re delighted that Base Face Pizza will be offering all runners, their families and Turkey Run spectators and supporters, 25% off all food between 12pm-9:30pm (excluding Deliveroo).

Special thanks to the amazing local businesses and groups who supported us: Barnes Runners, Coach & Horses, &Feast, The MaMa Edit, Up&Running Sheen, Barnes Flyers, The Ginger Pig and Base Face Pizza.

All proceeds from the Turkey Run go towards the BCA/FiSH Christmas Day lunch, festive meal deliveries, and other BCA initiatives.

NEW Barnes Christmas Bauble and Charity Christmas Card

Visit the BCA stall on Barnes Green on Friday or at Holy Trinity Christmas market on Saturday and see our new Christmas merchandise! We’re delighted with this handmade tree bauble which features a festive Barnes swan and the words Barnes Christmas. We’re also selling a charity Christmas card, painted by Michelle Hawes of Barnes Artists. Both items also available, together with other BCA merchandise, from Rose House (Monday-Friday, 9am - 1pm).

Barnes Phone Box Blossoms for the Season

We’re delighted to share the news that the phone box near Hammersmith Bridge has now been beautifully planted for the season. This project has been a wonderful community collaboration between the BCA, Barnes Men’s Shed and St Paul’s School, who generously funded the work.

The planting itself was carried out by the boys of the Environmental Patrol Team at St Paul’s Junior School, whose enthusiasm and care brought the display to life.

We’re incredibly proud of this partnership, which brings together the skills of the Men’s Shed team and the environmental commitment of local students. The Environmental Patrol Team will also be helping us maintain the phone box throughout the seasons, ensuring it continues to brighten our community all year round.

Pottery Open Studio - Saturday 6 December

Ceramics Classes London is hosting an Open Studio Day on Saturday 6 December, 12pm-6pm, at The Barn, behind 19a Barnes High Street. Enjoy pottery for sale, festive treats, mulled wine, and live demonstrations throughout the day.

Hermanos Coffee Columbian Christmas Market - Sunday 7 December

Hermanos’ Columbian Market returns on Sunday 7 December, 10am - 4pm. Its shop on Barnes High Street will be transformed into a lively mini festival featuring free specialty coffee tastings, performances from Colombian dancers, children’s face painting and handmade crafts.

Santa Shootout - Saturday 13 December

Barnes Eagles FC is hosting its first Santa’s Shootout Spectacular at Barn Elms on 13 December - a festive community football fundraiser with fantastic prizes for both kids and adults. All proceeds support its grassroots football programme, which provides opportunities for over 350 children locally.

A Magical Christmas Show

West End magic arrives in Barnes later this month as KIDDIEWINKS brings A Magical Christmas, a heart warming family show created by East Sheen local Mads Hauge, one of the UK’s leading songwriters and producers. The show features original music, lovable elves and stage and screen actor Timothy Nixon - known for his role as Santa in the Polar Express Train Experience. Performances take place at Kitson Hall on 20-21 December, with additional shows at Sheen Mount School (13-14 December) and Sheen Lane Centre in Mortlake (22-23 December).
