Gift in your will

Leave a legacy for the future by including a gift to the BCA in your will. We all want to leave something behind for our loved ones, so family and friends will of course be the first people you consider when planning your will. If you would also like to leave a gift to the BCA, it is vital your will is carefully worded, or properly amended, to ensure your wishes are observed. This should be done in consultation with your legal advisor.

Leaving a gift to a charity can be done with a codicil form signed in the presence of two witnesses. It could mean that your family will have to pay less inheritance tax. Legacies from supporters are a vital form of funding for all charities and we can only carry on growing and making a positive difference to Barnes if generous people continue to leave gifts to the BCA. We will be extremely grateful for any amount you are able to leave us. Your solicitor will be able to advise you on the appointment of executors about how best to reduce your liability for inheritance tax.

Give in Memory

Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a positive way of commemorating a life, whilst supporting the BCA’s important work in Barnes.

If you’ve lost someone you love who supported the BCA, you’ll know that they cared about Barnes and the local environment. By making a gift in their memory you will be helping us carry on work they believed in and making a positive difference to our community here in SW13.

We really appreciate you donating in memory of someone and would like to make things as easy as possible so there are several ways to donate. You can make a personal one-off donation.

However you are donating, if you are a UK taxpayer, please Gift Aid your donation, which will add 25p for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you.

Please email us or include a brief note with your contact details and the name of your loved one so that we can acknowledge your gift.

In Memory Collections

People often choose to commemorate the life of a loved one by asking for donations rather than flowers at the funeral or memorial service.

Organising the funeral of a loved one can be very difficult and the Barnes Community Association is hugely indebted to those who choose to ask for charity donations at this time. Your funeral director will help you collect donations and handle the administration.
