Russell has been our green keeper for several years following the sudden draining of Barnes Pond is 2001 and its subsequent redevelopment. The green keeper’s role consists essentially of carrying out and organising works on and around the Green whilst liaising with the Council, services, contractors as well as local businesses and residents. There is a particular focus on managing Barnes Pond for wildlife and as a local amenity. The post is funded jointly by the BCA, the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and by generous sponsorship of Chestertons.
