BCA update February

Works on the High Street The BCA was notified last week that major gas works will start on the High Street on 15 February for 10 weeks.  Our High Street is already very congested and we have been working with the Council on proposals for improving traffic flow so these works are not welcome but apparently they are necessary.  There will be road closures on Terrace Gardens and Stanton Road and 2 and 3 way lights in place during different phases of the works.  The contractor Skanska has written to local businesses and residents with more information about the works.

Railings on Station Road

Late last year the Council consulted residents about the future of the railings that border Barnes Green on Station Road.  208 people responded to the consultation with the greatest number of respondents favouring replacement with a similar-looking vertical railing.  The railings will be replaced in the coming months.

White Hart Lane footbridge build

Another project which has also come to fruition recently is the footbridge at White Hart Lane level crossing. Users of the crossing will have noticed workers on the site making it ready for the build.  The bridge will go up over the coming months.  This project is the product of a great community campaign led by Cllr Paul Avon and a team of local residents and supported by the BCA.
